River Island Restyle
I recently entered a River Island Restyle competition, I had no time to do a proper photoshoot so my housemate took a few quickly in my kitchen. I found out last week I was a finalist which is nice! I won £150 in River Island vouchers but I don't actually shop in high street shops, maybe I could get some shoes though or lots of knickers!

wish list. . . .
Amazing vintage website, these are some of my favourites, but looks like they are other peoples too as most have them have sold, damn it.
Also I didn't even mean them to nearly all be black, but they do look nice together.

River Island Restyling competition
I felt this one was too 'cute' for my jacket.
I am currently working on a River Island restyling competition as part of my major project preparation. We need a live aspect to our brief and because I am planning on doing recycled fashion for my final major project I though this competition was perfect for my project. We got sent a box of clothing from River Island which we have to rework, customise or completely take apart and recreate a stand out outfit. I chose this blue dress and am making a cropped jacket. These are photo's of the sleeves I may use for the final jacket. I made them out of calico first to see how they look. The last sleeve is the one I will be doing. I will use fabric from another black dress to make the insert in the centre.
Clueless
I watched Clueless last night and now I want to have a Clueless party and dress up like Dionne, she was amazing. I think 90's is due for a come back.

Experimenting and reworking leather
This is just a sleeve gathered at the crown, I made it so the waistband of the jacket was the hem of the sleeve. I love the effect leather has on this sleeve pattern. I am definately going to use recycled leather in my final collection.
The leather jacket which I made the sleeve and corset/ fitted bodice with.
I had to use brown and beige cotton to sew it together which doesn't look good but it's only a sample so if I were to make it again I would definately use black and I think I would bone it too and make it a proper corset.
I had to pin the corset to the mannequin but it fits me so I think I may wear it out on sat night, if I finish it (and it doesn't fall down)
I added a velvet binding at the end (very quickly and not very well) I don't like it though, it reminds me of christmas outfits, I'm not sure why but my housemate agree's. She said it was "what a goth would wear at a christmad party" so I am definately goinf to remove it and find another binding.
